Two people have appeared in court following the discovery of a major cannabis find at a house in Letterkenny.

The accused, Shane Valentine and Victoria Campbell, were both charged with possession of cannabis and having cannabis for sale and supply.

Both appeared at Letterkenny District Court this morning.

Valentine, aged 22, of 69 Glenoughty Close, Letterkenny and Campbell, aged 20, also of 69 Glenoughty Close, Letterkenny did not speak during the brief hearing.

Both were bailed to appear at a future sitting of the court in October.

A number of bail conditions were imposed on the pair including a curfew and that they sign on at Letterkenny Garda station.

An undisclosed sum of money was also seized during the Garda raid on the house at 69 Glenoughty Close in Letterkenny.

Solicitor Frank Dorrian applied to have €190 of the cash returned to Valentine after the court heard he had no money on which to live.

“Without that, they are destitute,” said Mr Dorrian.

Judge Paul Kelly agreed to the application.
