Tragic women to be laid to rest in Bruckless on Monday

Mother and daughter Margaret McGonigle (69) and Mairead Mundy (39) and their close friend Racheal Cassidy Battles (37), who were tragically killed yesterday, are to be laid to rest on Monday.

They had been traveling home from Dublin airport following a dream holiday in Turkey when they were involved in a three-car road traffic collision in Louth at 1am.

Two other men were seriously injured in the crash and were rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Margaret McGonigle and Mairead Mundy will repose at Mrs Mundy’s residence in Ballyloughan, Bruckless from 5pm this evening. The removal takes place on Monday morning, going to the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal in Bruckless for funeral mass at 11am, with the burial taking place in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 11pm to 11am.

Racheal Cassidy Battles will repose at her late residence in Ballyloughan, Bruckless from 8pm this evening. The removal takes place on Monday, to the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal in Bruckless for 2:30pm funeral mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 11pm to 11am.

There will be a shuttle bus service to the wake houses from Bruckless National School.
