Watch: Was this a black card for Donegal captain Michael Murphy?

While Donegal had no qualms about the end result last night as they fell to defeat to Galway, there were more than a few quibbles about some of referee Anthony Nolan’s decisions.

The decision, in particular, to give Michael Murphy a black card in the eighth minute of the second half drew howls of derision from the already-frustrated Donegal support.

Murphy was black carded for this challenge on Galway forward Shane Walsh – and Donegal were down to 14 men as their full compliment of substitutes was already on.

Donegal lost heavily 4-17 to 0-14 and the decision had no bearing on the outcome – but it certainly appeared harsh on the Glenswilly man…
