Don’t put away the sun cream just yet as there could be plenty of more trips to Donegal’s beaches and parks this week.

Met Eireann say temperatures will rise throughout the week hitting up to 24C.

With a mixture of cloud and plenty of sunny spells, this is ideal beach weather, according to forecasters.

“A mixture of cloud and sunny spells today and dry apart from a few showers.

“Highest temperatures 18 to 21C. Light to moderate north to northwest winds.

“Monday, will be a dry day with warm sunny spells and maximum temperatures 20 to 24C; cooler along western and northern coasts.

“Light to moderate northwesterly winds.”

And the good weather is set to stick around for the rest of the week.

They added: “There will be patchy rain on western coasts on Monday night, but otherwise it will be a generally dry night.

“Temperatures overnight will drop to 11 or 12C and winds will be light to moderate from a northwesterly direction.”

So if it’s Glenveagh, Dunfanaghy, Rosnowlagh or Malin Head that tickles your fancy, get out there and make the most of Donegal – the coolest place on the planet.
