Man released without charge after gun and ammunition find

A man has been released without charge after a weapon and ammunition
was discovered in Convoy.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested in the village on
yesterday evening.

Members of the Gardai backed up by the Regional Support Unit carried
out the raid.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene after officers recovered a
firearm and ammunition.

The man was detained at Letterkenny Garda station under Section 30 of
the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

The man was released without charge this afternoon (Mon) and a file on
the incident is to be prepared for the Director of Public
Prosecutions.
