Donegal Death Notices – Rest in Peace

Donegal death notices for today, Friday, July 28.

Sister Carmel MC ATEER
The death has occurred of Sr. Carmel Mc Ateer, (Religious Sisters of Charity, Lakelands, 15, Gilford Road, Sandymount, Dublin and formerly of Fanad, Co. Donegal). Deeply regretted by her community at Lakelands, her congregation of the Religious Sisters of Charity, her sister-in-law Josie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her sister, Sr. Elizabeth Anne, her brothers Paddy, Jimmy and Tommy.

Reposing in Lakelands Convent from 4pm on Friday July 28th., with evening prayers at 5pm. Removal to Star of the Sea Church, Sandymount for Mass on Saturday at 12 noon followed by burial in the Community Cemetery, Donnybrook.


Thomas (Tom) CAMPBELL

The sudden death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Tom Campbell, (retired Garda) Donegal Road, Ballybofey. Beloved husband of Bridie and much loved father of Seamus, Aidan, Anita, Patricia, Louise and devoted brother of Patrick. Sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, brother, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, extended family circle, ex-colleagues, friends and neighbours.

Remains reposing at his home on Friday July 28th from 5pm until rosary at 10pm. Funeral leaving his home on Saturday July 29th at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church Of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar, with interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.

David WALLACE
The death has taken place at his residence of David Wallace, Ballyholey, Raphoe.

Remains reposing at his residence. Funeral from there on Sunday, 30th July, at 2pm for Service in Raphoe Presbyterian Church at 2.30pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. Family time from 10pm to 11am and private on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Raphoe Presbyterian Church and the Donegal Hospice care of any family member or Gibson Funeral Directors, Convoy.

James (Sonny) BONNER
The death has taken place at Naas General Hospital of James (Sonny) Bonner, Drimnagh, Dublin 12 and formerly Ballinacarrick, Leitirmacaward. Reposing at Shovlin Funeral Home, Sandfield Ardara tomorrow, Friday evening, from 4pm with removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Leitirmacaward arriving at 6pm Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard

Patrick DUFFY
The death has taken place of Patrick Duffy, Drumaweir, Greencastle. Reposing at his late residence. Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Ballybrack took place this morning followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Pieta House or Greencastle Cliff & Sea Rescue.
