Diver airlifted to LUH after getting into difficulty in Portnablagh

An incident occurred off the coast of Portnablagh yesterday.

The Coast Guard were alerted of a diver in difficulty at 1:45pm yesterday afternoon.

The diver was unconscious when he was taken from the water, and was promptly airlifted by Rescue 118 to Letterkenny University Hospital from Portnablagh pier.

Fortunately the man’s diving partner is okay.

The man had been out with the diving boats, and as it was windy and the sea had a slight swell conditions were not ideal for diving.

Before diving, the RNLI advise you to check sea conditions and tide tables on magicseaweed.com before making your trip.
