Participants of Letterkenny Parkrun thought they had double vision this morning as two sets of twins took part in this morning’s 5k!

Malachi Johnston and Leo Johnston took part along with Emilia Johnston and Ciara Johnston.

The four cousins had fantastic times this morning, with Malachi and Leo finishing the parkrun in 27 minutes 22 seconds and 27 minutes 24 seconds respectively. Emilia and Ciara crossed the finish line five seconds apart, with Emilia leading the way with 31 minutes and 45 seconds.

Martin Mooney was the first overall to cross the finish line, with 11-year-old Conor Broderick hot on his heels.

This morning’s parkrun was sponsored by Brian Mc Cormick Sports and Leisure.

Every Saturday morning at 9:30am, walkers, joggers, fun runners, and elite runners alike come together to take part in this free 5k.

The emphasis is on having fun and enjoying yourself – why not join in next week?
