Rising Finn Valley AC ace James Kelly recorded another fine win this afternoon.

The St Johnston man won the shot put at the Celtic Games International at Morton Stadium in Santry.

Kelly, younger brother of John Kelly, reached out to 18.12 metres to take gold.

Kelly, coached by his father, John senior, is hot on the heels of his older brother and today’s was described by Irish senior athletics team manager Patsy McGonagle as a ‘notable performance’.

Earlier this year, Kelly won a Scottish Under-20 title as well as an Irish indoor crown and just last month he won the Irish Junior title.
