The people of Ballybofey and Stranorlar are invited to meet tonight to organise extended coverage of the local Text Alert Scheme.

A meeting at the Finn Valley Centre on Thursday 10th August at 8pm seeks to bring together volunteers to raises awareness of criminal activity in the area. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Cllr Patrick McGowan said volunteers are needed to cover their own areas to ensure every house is signed up to the Text Alert Scheme. He said the meeting is to ensure that no Townland or Estate around Ballybofey and Stranorlar is left uncovered by the scheme.

“Criminals have no trouble in finding areas to terrorise so let us look out for one another.”

“Send a clear message to criminals,” Cllr McGowan said.

For €10, those who register will receive text messages of suspicious activity in their area for an indefinite period.
Information & Text Alert application Forms can be collected anytime from the BASE  Stranorlar 0749190909.
