This Donegal woman scooped €10K for Best-Dressed Lady at Dublin Horse Show

A Donegal woman has scooped the top prize for Best-Dressed Lady at the prestigious Dublin Horse Show.

Falcarragh woman Aoibheann McMonagle picked up a voucher for a cool €10,000 after judges voted her the most stylish lady at the event at the RDS.

The primary school teacher (32), is a regular at the Dublin Horse Show but this is the first time she has walked away with the top prize.

“I’ve done a few Ladies Days. I come every year to the RDS, it’s one of my favourite social events. I’m absolutely shocked. I was standing on the outskirts there and then I heard my name being called out. Literally, my jaw dropped,” she told Independent.ie

Aoibheann’s flamenco-inspired look featured a Marc Jacobs skirt, a white shirt from Karen Millen, a red hat by milliner Ashleigh Myles and shoes from Aldo.

“I won Most Colourful at the RDS in 2014. I seem to win whenever I have colour on. I was at the Galway Races as well so it’s been a brilliant week,” she said.

Aoibheann reckons the trick to winning is all about your attitude.

“I think confidence really helps, if they see you smiling and being happy,” she said.

She was presented with a €10,000 voucher from Dundrum Town Centre.
