The Carndonagh Boxing Club is celebrating its 40th anniversary tonight with a dinner and boxing show at the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin.

The club is toasting its big night with a handful of top-class bouts, with multiple Irish champions, the Clarke sisters, Labhaoise and Jessica, in action.

Nine-time Irish champion Labhaoise Clarke – who boxed in the European Championships this summer – faces Kellie McLaughlin from Drimnagh in one of the eagerly-awaited contests.

Jessica Clarke, who has won two Irish titles, faces Emma Feeney of Virginia.

Also on the bill, Andrew Cunningham takes on Elimantas Zelepugas of Virginia, Oisin Devlin takes on another Virginia puncher Leon Mooney, while James Devlin faces Nathan Mongan of Virginia.

The meal is served at 8pm with boxing afterwards and dancing to late with the great David James.
