A 42-year-old woman who was hurt in a hit and run incident in Portsalon has been released from hospital.

The woman was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital after suffering a head injury following the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning last.

The woman was struck by a car around 3am and it failed to remain at the scene.

However, the car was found by Gardai later and technically examined.

Gardai at Milford say they are following a definite line of inquiry in their investigation but no arrests have yet been made.
