There has been widespread sadness in Donegal today after the passing of Nan Brennan in Bundoran.

Nan passed away today, aged 80.

Nan’s remains will arrive at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church tomorrow, Monday evening, at 7 pm.

Her funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Finner cemetery.

Nan ran Brennan’s Criterion Bar along with her sister Patricia.

Brennan’s Bar opened its doors on St Patrick’s Day in 1900 and has since been a go-to destination for locals, tourists and surfers.

Earlier this year Brennan’s fronted the Hop House 13 ad series – with the sisters being picked for the campaign as the bar has been at the heart of Bundoran life for decades.

Deepest condolences to Nan’s family and friends at this difficult time.
