Top 10 baby names for 2017 revealed

The top 10 baby names for 2017 have been revealed.

For little girls, Emma, Olivia, and Ava have claimed the top spots.

For boys, Liam, Noah, and Lucas are the most popular.

According to BabyCentre, Emma has jumped from number two in 2016 to number one in 2017, as well as Liam which was the fourth most popular last year.

Unsurprisingly the popularity of the top names fifty years ago have changed, when Lisa, Kimberly and Michelle topping the list in 1967. For boys the top names were Michael, David and James.

Here are the top ten names for 2017 so far:

Girls:

  1. Emma
  2. Olivia
  3. Ava
  4. Isabella
  5. Sophia
  6. Mia
  7. Amelia
  8. Charlotte
  9. Harper
  10. Aria

Boys:

  1. Liam
  2. Noah
  3. Lucas
  4. Mason
  5. Oliver
  6. Ethan
  7. Logan
  8. Elijah
  9. Aiden
  10. James

 

The names have changed quite a bit since 2016 – yet Olivia, Ava, Isabella, and Aria remain on the list, as well as Noah, Liam, Lucas, and Ethan.

  4. Ava
  5. Mia
  6. Isabella
  7. Riley
  8. Aria
  9. Zoe
  10. Charlotte

Boys

  1. Jackson

  7. Mason
  8. Caden
  9. Oliver
  10. Elijah
