Castle Grove Hotel invites four-legged guests to first ever dog show

The team at Castle Grove Country House Hotel outside Letterkenny will be welcoming many tail-wagging guests to a fundraising dog competition for Donegal Animals in Need this Saturday.

We’ve got the treats in, the water bowls filled and there might even be the odd squeaky toy hiding in the gardens! This week at Castle Grove we are getting ready to welcome a range of very special guests to the hotel – of the four legged variety!

On 26th of August we are very excited to be hosting our very first dog show in aid of Donegal Animals in Need. With prizes to be won in categories such as ‘Best Trick Dog’ and ‘Best Owner Lookalike Dog’ the day promises to be hugely enjoyable for canine enthusiasts and man’s best friend alike.

Starting at 2pm, food and beverages will be on sale throughout the day and weather permitting, a selection of Castle Grove gourmet hotdogs, burgers and chicken skewers will be sizzling on the barbeque. There will also be a range of fun prizes and raffles with all proceeds going to Animals in Need.

General admission is free to the event so please feel free to bring along your fur baby, safely secured on his or her leash, to sniff out some Saturday fun and if they’re really lucky – a juicy sausage from that barbeque!

Noel Friel will be our guest judge on the day and he’ll have the tough task of looking for the best in category of small, medium and large dogs. Entry to the competition is only €10 with all proceeds going a long way towards supporting the fantastic work done by Animals in Need.

We would ask you to register in advance as we’re expecting a pack of beautiful Donegal pooches and space will be limited.
So, if you own a stylish sheepdog, a tenacious terrier or a pretty Pug, bring them along to strut their stuff on the green at Castle Grove. You know they’re woof it!

NOTE – A huge Thank you to our sponsors who are helping with this event:
