Areas of Inishowen are in darkness tonight as thunder, lightning and flash flooding strike Donegal.

The severe weather has affected power supplies at over 1,000 homes in Moville, Redcastle and Quigley’s Point.

Power outages are reported in these areas and the ESB have said they are currently working to repair the faults.

It is expected that power may not return until tomorrow morning. The estimated repair completion time is 8am on Wednesday 23rd August in the three areas.

More updates to come as the storm continues to affect the northwest.
