Local Improvement Scheme to accept applications for first time in six years

Cllr Patrick McGowan encourages people to submit applications to the limited Local Improvement Schemes.

Councillor Patrick McGowan said he expects application forms to be available this afternoon from the Council website.

“There will be a limited call this year and applications will have to forward to the Department by the 14th of September.

“The Council do not know at this stage how much funding Donegal will get this year but it would be important to get in as many applications as possible to maximize the funding to Donegal as a whole, but this will still mean only a small number being selected as funding allows this year,” he said.

This is the first time the scheme has been made available since 2011, and provides funding for the maintenance of private and access roads.
