The Glenswilly GAA Ladies Board hosted an Appreciation evening to thank all our Girls and Ladies Team Sponsors for 2017 on Monday 28th August.

The board would like to sincerely thank all those that attended our event, helped out in any way and especially thank this year’s Team Sponsors for their generosity and continued support, sponsoring New Team Jerseys.

  • Callaghan’s Bar Churchill – Senior Ladies Team
  • Donegal Stationery – Minor Girls & Under 16s
  • Letterkenny Glass U10 U12 & U13
  • Amandas Cattery & Kennels U10 U12 & U13
  • Paul Gallagher U14s Girls .

The board would also like to thank our other sponsors this year:

Lidl, Sharon Hair and Beauty Letterkenny, McFadden’s Gifts and Home, Geraldine Diver Photography, Donegal Stationary Co., Power Nail Guns, Gartar Outdoor Centre, McDonald’s, Speer Performance, Michael Murphy Sports, The Sandwich Company.

We as a board and Club would also like to take this opportunity to wish our Ladies’ Team well.

On Saturday 9th September, the senior ladies team will contest the Junior Final against Killybegs, a massive achievement for the ladies who only reformed in 2014 following an eight-year hiatus from club football. The team have built on last year’s division 3 league win and hope that their efforts will see them over the line against a strong Killybeg’s side who have won this year’s division 3 league.

Peadar Toner manages the Glen Ladies and is assisted by Shelia Campbell, Mark Glackin and Kevin Burke. The management team have worked hard and dedicated hours to get this hard-working side in shape to bring home silverware. The ladies have pushed themselves from 5k in the January snow to intense tactical sessions in their Foxhall pitch.

This year’s team is captained by Laura Gallagher, who brings invaluable experience as a county player to this developing side. Similarly, Shannagh Kelly, Vice captain and former county minor demonstrated great leadership throughout the year in the absence of our County Players. With an age span of approximately 30 years, this team mixes emerging talent with experienced veterans. Some of the 2006 and 2007 winners still play a vital role in the squad.

The senior ladies team is extremely grateful to Kathleen and all at Callaghan’s Bar Churchill, for her continued loyalty in sponsoring the Team since their return.
