Conor McDermott says St Mary’s, Convoy have to use days like yesterday as a springboard to push on to even greater days.

Ryan Carlin’s hat-trick fired St Mary’s to glory in the Junior B final against Pettigo, McDermott’s men winning 3-12 to 0-12, while the St Mary’s seniors overcame Naomh Padraig, Muff to reach the Junior A semi-finals.

Carlin bagged a treble in the first half.

“Those goals were tonics in the first half, especially when it was nip and tuck,” McDermott said.

“We knew 39 clubs would be supporting Pettigo. The goals settled us there and the goals made life easier for us.”
