Boyle-Carr in Czech Republic for friendly doubler-header

Amy Boyle-Carr is off on international duty this week with the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-17s for a friendly double-header against Czech Republic.

The Girls in Green play games against the Czechs, the first of them at 10am Irish time tomorrow and the next on Saturday at the same time.

Glenties woman Boyle-Carr is the only Donegal player on the squad.

St Johnston’s Tyler Toland was last week called into the senior squad for the up coming game against Northern Ireland.

Senior boss Colin Bell is also at the helm of the Under-17s.

“This is an exciting time for the squad on the eve of a new qualifying campaign,” Bell said.

“I was with the team for the European Championships in May and they really impressed me which was shown by recent call-ups to the WNT squad for Heather Payne and Tyler Toland.

“Whilst a number of players will be continuing their time with the WU17s this season, we’re also welcoming a number of new players to the squad who have already impressed for the WU16 side and in the Gaynor Tournament.

“They will be two tough games, Czech Republic gained plenty of valuable experience from competing in the WU17 European Championships in May and will give us perfect preparation before beginning our qualifying campaign at the end of the month.”
