Fire services are attending the scene of a blaze at Rossbracken between Letterkenny and Manorcunningham today.
The fire started at a waste facility in the early hours of this morning (Friday). The fire service was alerted to the incident at 2.30am. Units from both Letterkenny and Stranorlar have attended the scene.
A health warning has been issued by the fire service to people in the surrounding area.
Residents of Manorcunningham are being told to keep all windows and doors closed, and passing motorists are advised to keep windows up due to smoke. Plumes of smoke are travelling in the direction of Manorcunningham.
Emergency service workers are battling to contain the fire to the shed. Smoke emerging from burning waste at the site is toxic and fire service workers are using breathing apparatuses as protective measures.
