Charity Cabaret at the Waterfront Hotel is an all-out success

The award winning Waterfront Hotel in Dungloe held its biggest ever event to date on Saturday 9th September when they hosted a Charity Cabaret and Dinner Dance for the Arranmore RNLI.

The hugely successful 400 capacity gala ball was a fundraising event with proceeds being donated to the Arranmore Island RNLI.

The event was organised by Pat Boyle of PJ Boyle Construction with the aim of making it an annual event. The ultimate goal is to get a smaller inshore boat to service the inner bays such as Dungloe, Keadue and Kincasslagh as well as to compliment the outstanding work of the all-weather boat.

Pat said, “Arranmore is very close to my heart, as it is the ancestral home of my forefathers and obviously the RNLI provide an essential service to the Island. I am personally overwhelmed by the generosity and the support that people showed tonight.

“We had a very, very successful auction with some wonderful holidays, artwork and memorabilia being bidded for. Of course none of this would have been possible without our fantastic sponsors. I would like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart.”

Prizes at the fundraising auction

Pat also praised Joseph McColgan and all the team at the Waterfront Hotel for the elegant ball and amazing food. A special mention was given to executive chef Bengi Conmy who recently won the Donegal Chowder Cook Off at the recent hooked festival in Killybegs.

Music on the night was provided by The Cufflinks and Mad Dog Mcrea while legendary comedian Brendan Grace brought the house down with his usual hilarious performance.

Donations to the RNLI are still welcome and can be arranged by contacting Martina Rafferty at the Waterfront Hotel, Dungloe on (074) 95 22444. A huge thank you to all our guests and everyone who supported this event.
