Listen: Danny O’Donnell was already thinking of a replay when Milford squeezed into final

Danny O’Donnell admits that he was beginning to plan for a replay before Lady Luck decreed that his Milford side would be spared a second day.

Milford edged Aodh Ruadh in a dramatic Intermediate semi-final in Letterkenny. Philip Patton’s late free tailed off to the left and wide with a chance to level the day and force a replay for the Ballyshannon man.

But Milford – beaten finalists last year – are back in the decider again.

“We lost a county final into the same goals last year,” Milford boss O’Donnell observed.

“Thankfully it went our way today. On balance we probably just deserved it. We got over the line and semi-finals are all about that, nothing else. It’s not worth a damn unless you win it now.
