A number of business premises in the heart of Killybegs have been flooded after a local river burst its banks.

The premises in the Bridge Street area of the town include local TD Thomas Pringle’s office.

A similar flood happened in the town in 2012.

The extent of the damage to the businesses is not known at this stage.

Donegal Deputy Joe McHugh said he has been in touch with a number of business owners and is awaiting a report on the flooding.

Meanwhile, a yellow rainfall alert remains in place for across Donegal.
