John McNulty described himself as being ‘proud, bur very disappointed’ after St Naul’s lost out to Milford in yesterday’s Intermediate final in O’Donnell Park.

St Naul’s had Milford by the pin of the collar in the second half, but a late Milford surge, including a Cathal McGettigan goal on 59 minutes, took the prize.

“I couldn’t ask for more,” McNulty said.

“They gave absolutely everything. I’m very proud, but very disappointed we didn’t get the result after the performance we put in.

“They battled to win every ball and worked so hard. We didn’t get scores at times when we should have – and in big finals that’s a difference.”
