The local community in West Donegal has today helped clear an unsightly shipwreck from Bunbeg pier.

The clear-up operation was headed by Donegal County Council.

Local county councillor Micheal Mac Giolla Easbuig praised the project.

He said anyone who knows of similar wrecks including abandoned cars should contact their local councillor in a bid to help clear up piers and other locations.

He said “I am delighted that this shipwreck has been cleared from the area and it makes the harbour at Bunbeg Pier look a lot better.

“I would encourage anybody who knows of similar wrecks or discarded cars to get in touch with the council or their local councillor and clean-up their area.”
