Pettigo win in Glen to seal Division 5 League crown

Pettigo secured a memorable season in style on Saturday evening as they defeated Naomh Columba to win the All-County League Division 5 title.

Pettigo had reached the Junior B Championship final, which they lost to St Mary’s of Convoy earlier in the season. That was the club’s first Championship final appearance in some 63 years.

And at Pairc na nGael on Saturday, they defeated Naomh Columba 3-9 to 1-10.

John Kane, Jarlath Leonard and Johnny McManus hit the goals while Michael O’Riordan steered over five points for the border outfit.

Glen made a fist of it, but it was Pettigo who took the win they needed to seal the silverware.
