Listen: Martin Regan says Naomh Conaill’s ‘serious battlers’ can win Dr Maguire

Martin Regan believes that Naomh Conaill’s ‘serious battlers’ can lead the Glenties men to a fourth Donegal SFC title on Sunday.

Naomh Conaill have, as Regan says, ‘stuttered’ to the final but, after a come-from-behind semi-final win over Gaoth Dobhair, they’re here with a point to prove.

“I would never question their character,” Regan said.

“They never lie down. They’re serious battlers.

“We were never worried about not making a drive to come back. We were well set up but we just weren’t efficient enough. If we didn’t have the goal, we wouldn’t have come back. You need breaks like that to go your way.”

Naomh Conaill have already won three Dr Maguire Cups and Regan hopes their vast swathes of big game experience will be telling.

He said: “We’ll prepare as best we can and give it a shot, like we always do.

“Hopefully our experience will be worth a point or two on Sunday.”
