Marty Boyle has been 14 seasons in the Naomh Conaill senior team and is aiming to win Dr Maguire for a fourth time on Sunday.

Naomh Conaill have enjoyed the club’s best-ever period with wins in 2005, 2010 and 2015.

Boyle played in 2005 when Naomh Conaill broke the mould with a replay win over St Eunan’s and the Glenties men have topped the pile again on two more occasions.

“It creeps up on you,” Boyle says..

“ I wouldn’t count myself that old, but you see heads going in front of you every year now.

“We probably won it before our time.

“You have to make it when you have a good team. You need to take young players through when you have them.”
