Special celebrations planned for grand opening of new Flynn’s Pharmacy

This Saturday will be a special day in Dunfanaghy as Flynn’s Pharmacy opens its doors for a new chapter in the town.

The well-known pharmacy name is returning to the town with a grand opening this Saturday 14th October from 1pm-4pm, with music from Mickey Joe Harte, a few surprises and 20% off*.

The celebrations will be most significant for the Flynn family and Mary McAuliffe, who will cut the ribbon. Mary’s husband Jack McAuliffe opened the first pharmacy in Dunfanaghy in 1951 – in what is now Molly’s sweet shop. They moved across the road in 1957 and opened again in 1958.

On his retirement, Jack brought the late Gerry Flynn from Westport to work in Dunfanaghy in 1986, and thus began a lasting legacy in the town.

Gerry had intended to open up a pharmacy in Dunfanaghy last year but due to his untimely death in May 2016 these plans could not be fulfilled. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Flynn family and the highly trained and loyal staff, Gerry’s vision finally came to life, with the shop’s doors opening last month.

It is wonderfully fitting that Mary McAuliffe will officially open the doors of Flynn’s, marking the return of a fully comprehensive pharmacy to Dunfanaghy.

Pharmacist Declan McCartan and Hazel Alcorn

Flynn’s is a comprehensive pharmacy meeting all the medical needs of the community. The welcoming store on the Main Street provides all the medical services that great chemists provide, with Pharmacist Declan McCartan heading up the team. Customers also find a great range of healthcare, personal care products, jewellery, perfumes and cosmetics at Flynn’s.

Mickey Joe Harte

The official opening this Saturday will be a great celebration as singing star Mickey Joe Harte performs in-store. The Lifford singer’s new single, ‘For The Broken Hearted’ has sky rocketed to number one on the iTunes Irish Country Charts this month, and fans will have a unique chance to hear it live with other much-loved tracks.

There will also be many amazing giveaways on the day, 20% off everything in store* as well as food and refreshments and much much more planned for what should be a great occasion.

Flynn’s Pharmacy Dunfanaghy

Having already served first Dunfanaghy and then Falcarragh, as well as its neighbouring areas for over thirty years, Flynn’s hope to continue providing the same great service, support and care that they have prided themselves on throughout the years, together with the same strong emphasis their customers.

Call in to celebrate the official opening of Flynn’s Pharmacy Dunfanaghy this Saturday, 14th October at 1pm-4pm.
