KIlmacrennan’s Richard Kerr ended his 2017 Motostar BSB Championship with two fifth places at the final round at Brands Hatch at the weekend.

Kerr came from 15th on the grid to finish fifth on Saturday and closed the gap to third in the Championship to English rider Storm Stacey to 8 points after passing three riders on the final lap.

Richard started race two on the second row, led in the opening stages, the top two in the series got away and it was again a frantic battle for the final podium place as a fantastic five-man bunch, including Kerr, swapped places and paintwork for for 7 laps.

Richard finished in fifth place less than 0.2 seconds off the podium and Storm Stacey finished in 7th which was enough for 3rd in the Championship, finishing ahead of Kerr by 6 points in the overall standings.

2017 was a a great effort from the small team and they compete on home soil next weekend at the Sunflower Trophy Races.

The team will announce their plans soon for 2018.
