A missing schoolgirl has been found safe and well.

Rochelle Logue had not been seen since yesterday morning when she left her home in Buncrana for school at Crana College.

She collected some things from a friend’s home at 8.30am but disappeared and didn’t attend school.

Her father Allen made an earlier appeal for anyone who may have seen his eldest child to contact Gardai.

However, just before 4pm, Gardai contacted the Logue family to say Rochelle had been located safe and well in Buncrana.

She was taken to Buncrana Garda station and is due to be reunited with her family shortly.

Allen told Donegal Daily that he would like to thank everyone who has been involved in finding his daughter.

“It was a very worrying time but thankfully we know she is safe and well now.

“We would like to thank everyone who has been out looking for Rochelle and done anything in any way for us,” he said.
