Donegal are gunning for a place in the All-Ireland Masters final when they face Mayo in a semi-final tomorrow.

The Donegal Masters, managed by Aodh Ruadh’s Val Murray, face Mayo at Ballymote (throw-in 2.30pm) with a place in the November 4 final up for grabs.

Donegal finished joint top of their group with Sligo. A draw against Sligo was the only game they dropped points in and the rounded off the group phase with a fine 2-16 to 3-6 win over Antrim.

Last year, Donegal won the Shield competition, beating Offaly 0-13 to 0-10 in the final, but are aiming for the top prize this time around.

Paul McGonigle, recently appointed as Declan Bonner’s assistant manager with the Donegal senior team, is among the former Donegal senior players in action.

St Eunan’s John Haran, St Michael’s man Brian McLaughlin and Eamonn Doherty from Ardara are also included.

Donegal won back-to-back Masters titles in 2002 and 2003.

In tomorrow’s other semi-final, Sligo meet Cavan at Drumlish at 5pm.

There will be no extra time played in tomorrow’s games with replays pencilled in for Saturday-week, October 28.

Donegal Masters squad: Martin Gillespie, Charlie Doherty, Kevin McGettigan, Packie McGrath, Adrian McColgan, Seamus McGinty, Michael McShane, David McShane, Charlie Gallagher, Paul Gallagher, Gerard McGrenra, Stephen McGonigle, Michael Ward, Brian McLaughlin, John Haran, David Murray, Benny Cassidy, Ross Brady, Maurice McBride, Dan Branley, Kerry Ryan, Dermot McColgan, Charlie Bonner, Paul McGlynn, John A McMullan, Stephen Walls, Martin McShane, Michael McLaughlin, Seamus Ferry, Stephen Moss, Johnny McGinty, Kieran Barron, Ronan Steede, Adrian McGettigan, Charlie McGinty, Ryan Dorrian, Sean McDaid, Eamon Doherty, Paul McGonigle, Sean Boyce, Kevin Gallagher, James McBride.
