An inquest has been told that criminal proceedings have been launched into the death of a Stranorlar man in April, 2015.
Kieran Doherty died following a traffic accident at Ardmiran, Stranorlar.
The inquest into the death of the then 68-year-old man was opened and adjourned at Donegal Coroner’s Court today.
Evidence was given by Garda Ciaran McDermott and Garda Brendan Carr who are stationed at Ballybofey Garda station.
Both attended the scene of the incident at around 2.50am.
Garda Carr, who knew the late Mr Doherty, accompanied his body to the mortuary.
Pathologist Margaret Bolster carried out a post-mortem on the body and concluded that he died as a result of multiple injuries.
The inquest was adjourned after Garda Inspector Sean Grant told the court that criminal proceedings are ongoing in the case.
