LyIT defeated University of Ulster Magee in division 3 of the Senior Hurling league.

In a fine display of point scoring, LyIT came in 11 points to 6 at half-time. However, Magee rocked Lyit with a goal followed a quick point early in the second half to cut LyIT’s lead to the minimum.

Lyit replied with points from Jamie Gartlan and Gavin mc daniel which relieved the pressure on the LyIT defence ably led by John Chambers.

However, despite dominating possession LyIT struggled to put away a determined Magee. With 7 minutes to go a great Magee move was finished with a scrappy goal to level the score.

From this point on Lyit pushed on with scores from midfield and a lovely point from Christopher Gallagher which stretched out LyIT’s lead again.

Although Magee battled to the end they could not get the goal they needed. Final score LyIT 0.20 UU Magee 2.08.
