A lorry driver had a lucky escape after his vehicle caught fire in Letterkenny this afternoon.

The man was forced to jump from the vehicle when it appears the engine caught fire on the Business Park Road close to the new Pramerica building.

The emergency services including two units of the fire service rushed to the scene.

Thankfully the fire was brought under control and nobody was injured.

There were traffic delays for some time while the fire was dealt with.
