Listen: James Callaghan says Setanta’s ‘band of brothers’ are ready for Ulster final

James Callaghan is one of Setanta’s survivors and the experienced defender will go to the trenches seeking an Ulster title again on Sunday.

Callaghan played in the 2007 and 2008 Ulster JHC final losses to Armoy and Lisbellaw and will line out again on Sunday as the Crossroads men do battle with Na Magha.

Callaghan says the club has ‘underachieved’ of late, but Paul Campbell has managed to get the right blend in 2017.

“They’re a great band of brothers playing for one another,” Callaghan said.

“They can mix and match it, whatever way you want to play it. They’re playing good hurling and they want the jersey.

“When we put the stall out in February, this is where we want to be. We have worked day and night for this, we’ve dreamed of this and it’s within our grasp.

“I don’t remember the ones that we won. It’s always the ones we lose that we remember. 2007 got away and we’ll try and get redemption on Sunday.”
