Eamon McConigley fumed at the performance of the match officials after his Letterkenny Rovers were hammered by Cockhill Celtic this afternoon.
The Rovers manager was left in a rage as Cockhill took command after his side had a goal ruled out in a controversial off-side call in the 17th minute.
But it was the decision to call Pajo Rafferty offside when he turned home after Gavin Cullen brilliant turned Conor Tourish’s header onto the bar that irked McConigley most.
“I haven’t spoke to any of them…I have to be careful with what I say, but I thought the officials were a disgrace,” McConigley said.
“That’s not the reason I’m giving for why we were beaten. The decision for the goal, a genuine goal, changed the game.
“We took fear and we deviated from our game plan and we lost our way.”
Rovers had started the season in fine fashion, but the heavy defeat leaves them three points behind the champions.
McConigley said: “The (first) three goals, you wouldn’t give away in a school yard. In saying that, it is very early in the season. It will happen every team, where they will have an off day.
“We have good fellas in the dressing room, we’ll come back and we’ll learn from it.”
