Listen: Barry Doherty says Kilcar will be up for battle against Slaughtneil

Kilcar manager Barry Doherty believes his men can topple Ulster kingpins Slaughtneil on Saturday evening.

Kilcar meet the defending Ulster champions, who have won the last four Derry SFC titles, at Healy Park (6.30) in a game that will be screened live on TG4.

“We have to have our heads right,” Doherty said.

“We’ll be in for a battle. It’ll come down to fine margins. If we’re there or thereabouts, we’d be hoping we’d have the one per cent.

“They’re a dogged team. They’ll fight if you want to fight; they’ll play football if you want to play football.

“We can worry about Slaughtneil all we want, but we know that if we perform we won’t be far away. If we get the opportunity to take them on, we’ll take them on. We need to go out and give a performance.”
