The Letterkenny Institute of Technology hurlers maintained their good form with a decisive win over the University of Ulster Coleraine in Division 3 of the senior hurling league.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology 8-9 UU Coleraine 0-4

Played in difficult weather conditions at Hibernian Park in Burt,  LyIT started very strongly scoring three very early goals.

Coleraine struggled to create scoring opportunities with the Lyit defence dominating.

Mark Diver, Gearoid O’Connor and Shaun Anderson were very prominent winning possession and creating chances for LyIT.  Half time score was 4-5 to 0-3 in favour of LyIT

In the second half, despite having wind advantage Coleraine were unable to force their way into the game.

Fine LyIT scores from Macauley Carr, Caolan McDermot and Christopher Gallagher, among others, enabled the Letterkenny IT lads to win and reach the League quarter final to be played next Thursday, at a venue to be confirmed.
