Former Donegal Senator Jimmy Harte has never been one to string people along.

But he was left a little speechless recently when he met one of his heroes, Ralph McTell recently.

Jimmy attended the Streets of London star’s concert at Letterkenny’s An Grianan Theatre.

Jimmy couldn’t believe his luck when he came in to take his seat early when Ralph called down to say hello amid his final preparations for the show.

As the two talked about music and Jimmy’s student summers in London, Ralph went on to present his new pal Jimmy with an autographed packaged enclosed with his guitar strings.

Ralph, who is now celebrating over 50 years on the road and known for his virtuoso guitar style and his superb songwriting, came to prominence with his worldwide hit “Streets of London”.

Ralph later went on to mention Jimmy not once, but twice in his gig, going on to dedicate his hit song “Streets of London” to his new friend Jimmy.
