Snow joke as bookies slash odds on Christmas white-out!

It’s still weeks away but bookies have slashed the odds on Ireland having a white Christmas.

With one of the coldest winters on record forecast, bookies have slashed the odds on a flurry of the white stuff falling on December 25th to 1/3 from 4/5.

Bookies have dramatically cut odds that there will be snowfall in the capital’s airport at any stage during the month of December this week.

There’s even odds of 5/1 that it will snow in Dublin Airport on Christmas Day if you’re feeling lucky and fancy a flutter.

It would appear that punters are piling on the cash as these odds have come down dramatically from 7/1.

We’ve yet to contact Michael Gallagher, the amateur weather sleuth in Glenfin!

This is down from 7/1 just a week ago, so it appears hedging your bets against the weather is something happy-go-lucky punters are fancying this Christmas.

Head of Communications for BoyleSport Leon Blanche said: “Punters cannot get enough of snow to fall at Dublin Airport this coming December and have backed it off the boards to a very short price of 1/3 having been available for a long time at 4/5.

He added: “To make matters worse some are predicting we will record the coldest day in our history which currently stands at -19.1C. If that were to happen you can currently have 66/1.”
