Minister Joe McHugh has sanctioned a grant of €58,736 for Donegal County Council to allow works to be undertaken to relocate electricity cables that are situated close to the helipad that has been developed on Tory.

The decision to relocate the cables was based on health and safety concerns.

Making the announcement, the Donegal TD said: “My Department has supported the development of a fine facility on the island, and this additional funding will add further to it safety.”

D’fhógair Joe McHugh, T.D., Príomh-Aoire an Rialtais agus Aire Stáit don Ghaeilge, don Ghaeltacht agus do na hOileáin go bhfuil deontas breise de €58,736 ceadaithe aige do Chomhairle Contae Dhún na nGall i ndáil le haistriú cáblaí leictreach atá in aice leis an héileapad a forbraíodh ar Thoraigh.

Is chun cur le cúrsaí sláinte agus sábháilteachta a rinneadh an cinneadh na cáblaí a aistriú.

Dúirt an tAire Stáit is é ag déanamh an fhógra “Tá áis mhaith forbartha ar an oileán le cúnamh ó mo Roinn agus cuideoidh an cúnamh breise seo cur le cúrsaí sábháilteachta timpeall na saoráide.”
