LYIT played in the league this week against Limerick Celtics in Bishop Field leisure center in Derry.

LYIT came away with a 95-83 victory.

This was an intriguing game as it hosted two of the top scorers in the league facing off with LYIT’s Chaz Walter and Limerick Celtic’s Matt St Armour averaging 75 points a game combined.

LYIT got of to a slow start and Limerick Celtics lead by 12 points at the end of the half spurred on by Matt St Armour’s 18 points in the first half. However LYIT came alive in the 3rd quarter with Chaz Walter hitting 13 points in the third accompanied by 8 points from Jon McGill and 12 points from Jordan McCelland.

However the story of the quarter was a great man marking job by Paul McHugh holding Matt St Armour to just two pints in the quarter. LYIT lead by 16 points going into the fourth and ran out comfortable winners by 12 points.

LYIT’s next game is away to undefeated Keanes Supervalue Killorglin on the 25/11/17.

Last time the two teams meet Killorglin narrowly beat LYIT by 2 points.
