A young Creeslough man who was drunk and abused Gardai has been fined a total of €350.

Chris Reddan failed to appear at court where he was charged with intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Garda Sean Sharkey told the court that he came across Reddan, a part-time chef with an address at 15 Birchill Avenue, Creeslough, at 2.55am on Main Sreet in Dunfanaghy.

Garda Sharkey said there had been a large number of people on the street after a nightclub.

He said Reddan was involved in an altercation and when he was ordered to desist, he became abusive and was arrested.

When taken to Milford Garda station he continued to be abusive.

He was issued with summons but failed to pay the fines.

Judge Paul Kelly fined Reddan €€250 for disorderly conduct and a further €100 for being intoxicated.
