Listen: Matthew Crossan urges Naomh Colmcille to ‘rise to the occasion’

Matthew Crossan says Naomh Colmcille have to rise to the occasion in Saturday’s Ulster JFC final.

The meeting with Belnaleck is Naomh Colmcille’s first ever provincial final.

But experience is not lacking in the Naomh Colmcille dressing room. The likes of Willie Gillespie, Ryan McErlean, Daniel Clarke and Michael Lynch have worn Donegal’s colours at different levels of late and Crossan has been in burning furnaces with Finn Harps.

“We’re focussed. None of us have been here before. We’re looking forward to it and we need to make sure it doesn’t pass us by,” Crossan said.

“We’ve been written off in every game we’ve played. That has stood to us. We knew in our changing room that we can beat anyone on our day.

“It’s all about seeing out the nerves and putting in the performance. We have to rise to the occasion.”
