Letterkenny Chamber calls on shops to be merry and bright

The Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce has made a Christmas wish that a community effort will make the town festive and bright this year and in the years to come.

The group have installed new lights around the town for 2017 and are now calling on local businesses to do their bit to add to the Christmas cheer.

Friday night’s Christmas switch-on revealed a new overhead lights display at the Market Square to account for the reduced tree size in the area. The Lower Main Street has also had new lights, a feature and building features installed to improve the location. The project is part funded by the council and from the Letterkenny Chamber’s own resources.

In light of the new upgrades, it is now hoped that the town can pull together to help fund and add to the displays.

The Letterkenny Chamber contacted members today to seek contributions to the Christmas lights fund and to ask businesses to make every effort to enhance their own buildings and shop fronts for the season.

All they want for Christmas is to increase the reach of the lights, and anyone who wishes to donate to the fund can contact the Chamber office at letterkennychamber.com
