Lifford woman, Emily Lynch is still pinching herself after watching her name pulled out to appear on the National Lottery and RTE game show, Winning Streak last weekend.

Emily admitted, “I don’t know whether I’m coming or going”.

She says her house was full of relatives and close friends after she had put on a spread to mark the anniversary mass of her late husband, Seamus, who passed away two years ago.

She says that Seamus sent this gift to her and is a nice end to a “tough couple of years”.

The housewife then said the house was in uproar, such was the excitement after her name was announced and they had a good night of celebrations.

Emily has no shortage of support on the show this Saturday as she is one of nine siblings, all of whom are going along to RTE.

Also accompanying are her loving children Michael, Seamus and Lisa and grandchildren Daisy, Travis, Millie, Cara and Junior.

Her mother, Frances who is 87 years old, is delighted her daughter will get the chance to spin the wheel and is looking forward to being in the audience, being a long-time fan of the show.

Emily wants to do some home improvements with any winnings she gets from the show and said she will help out her son Seamus, who will marry partner Sheena, in April 2018.

The next episode of Winning Streak will be broadcast next Saturday evening (2nd December) at 8:25pm on RTÉ One, where presenters Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy will guide five players through the iconic show, which gives them the chance to win cash, cars and luxury holidays.

One will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to spin the Grand Prize Wheel with a maximum prize of €500,000.

The other four players chosen to participate in next week’s Winning Streak are:

Padraic Walsh from Headford Road, Co. Galway
Finbarr O’Mahony from Carrigaline, Co. Cork
Michael Casserly from Donamon, Co. Roscommon
Paul Kearney from Lucan, Co. Dublin

The popular gameshow first appeared on our screens way back in September 1990 and since then a massive 5,840 people have taken part, winning in excess of €165 million in prizes.
