Job Vacancy: The Letterkenny-based Alcohol Forum is seeking to recruit a part-time Assistant Finance Officer. 

The Alcohol Forum is a not-for-profit organisation that works to prevent and reduce alcohol-related harms in communities.

The Alcohol Forum is now recruiting for the position of:

Assistant Finance Officer – P/T (3 days per week)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing day-to-day book-keeping duties including monthly payment spreadsheets
  • Preparation of invoices for approval, payment and data entry
  • Performing monthly cashflow statements for each project
  • Prepare quarterly Income & Expenditure reports for various projects
  • Assist with preparation of Management accounts for the Senior Management Team
  • Assist with preparation of Quarterly Management accounts for the Board
  • Assist with Annual Accounts, ready for audit
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports to funders
  • Assist with preparation of monthly payroll / revenue returns
  • Analysis of financial reports and managing project expenditure
  • Reviewing and processing expense claims
  • General accounts and ad-hoc duties

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Applications are welcomed from candidates with an accounting qualification (or similar) and 3yrs+ work experience in a similar role managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control and reporting), preferably with experience of the community & voluntary sector.
  • Experience with Sage accounts essential. Payroll experience an advantage.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Be able to prioritise work and an ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft outlook, excel, word
